Mark

Mark is a seasoned actuary with more than three decades of experience across the insurance industry. He holds a BSc in Actuarial Studies from the University of the Witwatersrand and is a Fellow of both the Actuarial Society of South Africa (FASSA) and the Institute of Actuaries (FIA).

Over the course of 35 years, Mark has held senior roles at leading insurers including Momentum, Liberty, and Hollard Group Risk, where he spent 11 years before moving into independent consulting. His expertise spans the full actuarial spectrum, from reserving and financial reporting to pricing, treaty structuring, and strategic engagement with business leaders.

Currently, Mark consults to Jigsaw Global as Head of Actuarial and Risk Management, where he is responsible for guiding all actuarial functions, offering trusted advice, and ensuring technical excellence across the business.

Beyond the technical world, Mark has a passion for photography, travel, and gardening, pursuits that allow him to balance analytical rigour with creativity and calm.
